What You Can Expect
Every dental office likes to think they have friendly staff but at Smiles Are Us Park Holme we’re particularly proud of ours! In fact, most of us are related to each other or have been working together as close friends for several years.
If there’s one vision that we share, it’s to make sure your experience with us is something you’ll always look forward to.
Planning Ahead
Unless you’re being seen for an emergency, most new patient appointments will last about 1.5 – 2 hours. This time slot is specifically reserved to help us get to know you better, establish a baseline of your oral health needs and discuss any concerns that you may have.
Your First Appointment
If you’re here due to a toothache or are in pain, our priority is to alleviate any discomfort. Otherwise, we aim to book enough time for you to complete a new patient exam and clean in the same appointment.
After you’ve been seated, one of our dentists will stop in to chat and discuss any particular concerns. The better we get to know you, the better we can adjust our services to meet your expectations and comfort level. Next, you’ll be set back for a comprehensive exam of your exterior oral features and the soft tissues of the inside of your mouth. We use a digital intraoral camera to take pictures of any findings so that we can discuss those with you at that time.
Then, we’ll move on to examining your teeth. If any images are necessary, we offer in-house digital X-rays and OPG imaging. When appropriate, your exam will be followed by an oral hygiene or periodontal maintenance appointment, or you’ll be scheduled for a clean at a later date.
Insurance & Financing Information
Our practice participates with several dental coverage plans, including BUPA, HCF, Medibank Private, and Australian Unity. All claims are filed on the spot through HICAPS, making it simpler for our patients to cover their visit (you’re only responsible for any remaining gap).
We also offer our own in-house affordable payment plans and through TLC, making it simple to work any necessary treatment into your monthly budget.
We support and offer the Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CBDS) and treatment for Veteran Affairs (DVA) patients. We also see patients with the Emergency Dental Scheme through the Public Dental Service.
