Dr Peter Alvino, Principal Dentist

Peter always knew he wanted to work in the healthcare field in some form. For Peter, dentistry gives him the satisfaction of helping others while still being able to enjoy life away from work.

“Health was always the direction for me and dentistry evolved from there. I also like being able to help patients overcome their anxiety about treatment and educate them on how to care for their dental health.” To prepare for his dental career, Peter earned a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Adelaide University in 2010. He has furthered his education by taking courses in implantology and aligner orthodontics.

When he’s not at Smiles Are Us Park Holme, Peter likes to spend time with friends and family and enjoy a nice red!

Dr Nathaniel Nowicki

Growing up, Dr Nathaniel Nowicki told his father (also a dentist) that he wanted to go into pyrotechnics. As a child, he grew up in a dental practice, as his home housed his father’s private operatory. But over the years, Nathaniel changed his mind about turning to fireworks to make people smile and decided to follow in his father’s footsteps and joined Smiles Are Us Park Holme.

Dr Nowicki earned a Bachelor of Oral Health at Adelaide University and became an Oral Health Therapist. A few years later, he went back to University to obtain his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree in 2016. Like his late father and his father’s sister, Dr Nowicki continues the family tradition of using dentistry to give others something to smile about.

Dentists are only required to complete 60 hours of continuing education every three years, but Dr Nowicki spends much of his free time studying advancements in subjects such as biomaterials, orthodontics (Inman Aligners) and dental implants.
Some of Dr Nowicki’s favourite cases involve caring for individuals that have suffered from injuries due to domestic violence. After spending lengths of time rehabilitating their smiles, their self-esteem and confidence are practically tangible.

A self-proclaimed car enthusiast, Dr Nowicki enjoys collecting older model BMWs, racing and attending automobile shows. He’s also quite active with his church, enjoys playing different types of musical instruments and recently became a paraglider pilot.
